Brightfinch

To describe Brightfinch in a single word is to defy logic. She is a happy-go-lucky narcissist with a penchant for collecting and stirring the figurative pot. She loves to play games with others, both pleasant and cruel and delights in providing for her clanmates, especially the few OceanClan elders. Although she can be troublesome, everyone still typically enjoys speaking to Brightfinch, but only in small doses.

Hailing from another clan, Brightpaw's sudden appearance combined with a clan name surprised OceanClan, especially Sealstar who feared she came from one of the original clans as she had. This fear was dispelled as Brightpaw named her natal clan PeakClan and described their territory as being very, very far away. She initially struggled to fit in, still mourning the loss of her brother and sister, both lost to widely different fates. Trouble talking with others became her biggest issue, even her mentor Sedgefur had difficulty getting her to open up about her past. In the end, it wasn't Sedgefur she opened up to, instead the tiny deaf Daisykit. Although communication was limited between the two, Daisykit still understood all of what Brightfinch was saying, stating that it was all in the body language. This eased a weight she hadn't realised she was lifting from her shoulders and her life slowly started to improve.

Being a relatively small clan, there weren't many other apprentices for her to spend time with and often found herself helping Embercloud out in the healer's den during her free time. From her time in PeakClan, the concept of a medicine cat was not foreign to Brightpaw and unlike all her other clanmates, didn't require an explanation of how the rank worked. As her apprenticeship continued, she became a stronger, more confident cat who excelled at hunting, specifically birds from the treetops. She was given the warrior name Brightfinch in honour of these abilities as she was the only one to be able to catch a bird while jumping midair across the river from tree to tree. 

Although she hasn't been a warrior long, Brightfinch feels a lot older than she actually is. Looking back on her life, she realises that the mistakes of her past are just that. The past. Despite missing her sister and wondering where she is, if given the opportunity to see her again Brightfinch would turn it down. She doesn't want to unbury old pain and prefers her current place in the world over anything from her past.
