Personality & History

Of the entirety of OceanClan, only two members were actually former clan cats before joining. Along with Sealstar, Embercloud also came from RiverClan and had been training as a medicine cat before its downfall. As a kit, Emberkit knew she wanted to be apprenticed to Cherryleaf, the sole medicine cat of the clan. Always taking joy in helping out others, Emberkit would make a spectacular apprentice. She had 3 littermates, 2 sisters and 1 brother who were all apprenticed at the same time as her, but would follow down drastically different paths.

Emberpaw enjoyed her life as the medicine cat apprentice. She was a fast learner and soon knew the uses of many types of herbs even before actually using them on an injured cat. Cherryleaf took great pleasure in teaching her and both were mostly oblivious to the growing unrest in the clan. As Sealfang became Sealstar outright protests erupted. Cherryleaf and Emberpaw were treated a larger amount of injuries each day and the herb supply grew smaller and smaller. The first to die was Fawnpaw, a small apprentice who had sustained a large cut across his flank when his border patrol had come upon a group of former RiverClan rogues. He died of an injection which could have been prevented with the right herb mixtures.

She was only 14 moons old when the clan fell down in shambles around them, Sealstar nowhere to be found. Combined with the efforts of other clans and former RiverClan cats, the entirety of RiverClan were either driven out or killed, mostly the latter. Cherryleaf was killed, the only reason Emberpaw survived was because she hid in the empty herb storage. As dusk fell she escaped from the ruined campsite, unsure where to go. 

Emberpaw found herself wandering for days, surviving off small birds she had been taught to hunt. Her mind was a mess, she didn't know what had happened to her family or if they were even alive. She followed the river and eventually found a twolegplace which offered respite from the predators of the open wilderness. She spent moons there, eventually settling in the front garden of a twoleg house who didn't disturb her. She experienced vivd nightmares about her vivid life, often imagining herself getting caught and killed.

Rumours of an old grey molly with a strange name living in the forest and driving out other cats eventually spread to Emberpaw. Looking for a sense of security in her life, Emberpaw did what she knew and went looking for the only connection she had left to her former life.

Sealstar proved easy to find, simply stray into 'her' territory and she would attack you. Although her former leader instantly recognised her, they were still wary of the other. Sealstar claimed to have spoken with StarClan and that she should begin a new clan, free from the corruption of the previous one. Not really thinking, Embercloud accepted her offer to join the clan officially became the second member of OceanClan.
