Dacewhisker

Dacewhisker spent much of his time before OceanClan on his own, a natural loner who was able to fend for himself. However, always having had a knack for sensing trouble, he was usually able to keep himself safe. But this could not last forever and Dacewhisker, then known only asa Tau, found himself falling further and further from the path he had began on.

It all began in the middle of leaf-fall. Tau had fallen in with a group of other loners for the fast approaching winter to help each other find food. It all began good and innocent as most things do, but soon, as hunger for food grew, so did hunger for power. Struggles of power weren't uncommon in the ever growing group, Tau himself never tried to lead them despite being one of the founding members.

As the winter passed, the brutality of the group only continued to grow. Soon it was commonplace to steal food from housecats and hurt all who tried to resist. Sensing that this would only get worse, Tau left the group. Or rather, he tried to leave. By now there was a very prominent leader, a black cat Tau had originally known as Jet but now called himself Slash. Slash lead the group with iron claws and was more of a dictator than a leader. Having already distanced himself from this group by now, he watched on in agony as his friends were either radicalised or injured.

Tau had known Harlem, another pure black cat like Slash, from before leaving the group. Harlem was younger and more prone to be influenced by Slash and the other, older cats leading the group and Tau couldn't sit back and watch as his friend became one of the brutal killers. Together, they thought they had escaped from the gang but a group of the largest fighters confronted them one night. They went down fighting, thinking they would not awaken again.

But awaken they did, although still on the brink of death, they had not passed into StarClan just yet. The medicine cat of OceanClan, Embercloud, found them at the base of a tree in the forest clearing where other survivors of the gang assaults had been found previously. The two were healed back in the camp, and were named apprentices of OceanClan and were apprenticed to Sealstar and Maplestorm for a short lone moon before becoming warriors.
