Eaglefeather

Eaglefeather was born to kittypet parents and then given to new humans as soon as he turned 2 moons old. His mother never named him, and was instead given his name of 'Cocoa' from his owner. Unlike most former kittypets of OceanClan, he was happy with his life as kittypet. He had heard tales of cats who had to fend for themselves in the wilderness, never having a warm home or food prepared for them. He shuddered to think of life like that.

As you can likely guess, this all changed one day. He met a few alleycats trespassing in his yard and was about to surprise them and chase them away when he heard their conversation. Not knowing at the time, they were talking about OceanClan, a community of cats bonded through means other than blood. It was around this time that the gang threats had increased, Cocoa found himself giving more than half of his food to them every time he was visited. Fed up one day, he dared to question the gang and as a result was injured and now has to sacrifice almost all of his food for his life. Wandering the forest at night became more of a necessary than a hobby. He somehow taught himself to hunt mice and feasted on them, away from the gang. This is where he then ran into trouble with OceanClan.

Unbeknownst to him, the cats of OceanClan had been watching him rather than approaching him and driving him out of their territory. Sealstar offered him a place in the clan right away, quite unexpectedly for poor Cocoa. He accepts and it takes a few minutes for the life changing choice to set in.

Clan life was certainly, er, different than life as a kitty pet. His first hunting experience was very memorable for all the wrong reasons, he couldn't strike an opponent if his life depended on it and the hunger pains set in before the week was over. He wasn't sure what kept him tied to OceanClan at first, everything was hard and all his behaviour had dire consequences, but he had an epiphany. He was satiated, content, satisfied, quenched, for the first time in his life. Something deep inside him had always felt missing in a way, but now it was back.

Eaglepaw adapted quickly to clan life and was named Eaglefeather after less than 2 moons of training, most former kittypets took at least 4. Fishing took a while to learn, but soon he was a master at it. He became a sort of role model for younger apprentices, especially those who were also former kittypets. 

As a fully fledged warrior he found the enjoyment he found from the clan only skyrocketed. Due to this he became an overwhelming positive presence in the clan. If you need comforting or reassurance, Eaglefeather is the cat for you. This is helped by his naturally soothing voice which can be listened to for hours on end and is the only tom allowed remotely near the nursery.
